The 1,200-metre program will evaluate the northeastern extension of mineralization, discovered in the previous drill program.
Minera Andes encountered significant mineralization in 18 of 29 holes. Highlights include an interval of 5.4 metres grading 15.9 grams gold and 1,634 grams silver per tonne in hole 70, and 3 metres of 4.1 grams gold and 479 grams silver in hole 69. The intervals demonstrated continuity of mineralization to a depth of more than 100 metres.
The new program will focus on holes 69 and 70, as well as 1 km to the southeast, where previous drilling failed to cut the main vein. The company believes stepouts farther to the east will be more successful.
Following the drilling, Minera Andes expects to produce an in-house resource estimate on the vein structure.
Huevos Verdes is part of the larger Cerro Saavedra property.
