In an effort to promote mining and exploration in Indonesia, the Canadian embassy in Jakarta has extended an open call for mining companies, junior, intermediate and senior alike, to visit the country on a fact-finding mission.
Tentatively scheduled for October 2008, the visit is aimed at familiarizing mining companies with changing mining regulations in a country that has promising geology.
As part of the mission, participants will get to speak with top-rank executives of Indonesian and foreign-owned mining companies, as well as senior government officials at the national and provincial levels.
Members of the Indonesian Mining Association and experts on mining and tax regulations will also be present.
The embassy will also arrange trips for participants to other locations in Indonesia to allow companies a chance to meet with local authorities.
Those interested should contact the Canadian embassy as soon as possible.
