MINING IN CANADA — Rhonda set to drill Esker lead-zinc-silver deposit

Rhonda Mining (RDM-A) will carry out drilling and mapping on the Epworth lead-zinc-silver property, 450 km north of Yellowknife, N.W.T.

The program, which is expected to start in June, will consist of stepout diamond drilling to define additional reserves for both the near-surface and underground sections of the Esker deposit. At the same time, geological mapping will be extended to the north over known extensions of the horizon.

The property is held equally by Rhonda and Noranda (NOR-T). Mineralization in the property’s stratabound Esker deposit occurs in silicified, stromatolitic dolostone of the Rocknest formation, and forms a 2-to-12-metre-thick, sheet-like horizon over an area greater than 7 sq. km.

Rhonda believes that the surrounding land package is prospective for additional discoveries.
