Mining starts at SB property

Mining began May 20 at the SB gold property near Stewart, B.C., a joint venture between Tenajon Resources (VSE) and operator Westmin Resources (TSE).

Tonto Mining was awarded the contract for mining, and the hauling contract was awarded to Soucie Contracting of Stewart. The ore will be trucked to Westmin’s nearby Premier Gold mill and stockpiled for batch processing. The first batch is scheduled for production through the mill in mid-July.

Westmin is earning a 50% interest in the SB property by spending $2.8 million. In a separate development, Tenajon announced plans to merge with associated company Royal Scot Resources (VSE). Royal Scot is negotiating with Westmin for a possible custom milling arrangement on its Summit Lake gold project, a former producer near Stewart.
