Global rock-bolting and sealant company Minova International, the ground control division of Orica (ORI-A, OCLDF-o) has acquired two European bolt manufacturers, making it one of the world’s largest suppliers of the part.
Poland-based Arnall, a manufacturer of steel bolts, cable bolts and accessories and German bolt manufacturer Berg-un Industrietechnik GmbH (BWZ) are Minova’s latest additions.
The acquisitions are part of a flurry of mergers and acquisitions Minova has engaged in over the past year and a half beginning with the purchase of French bolt-maker Cocentall and Autorock Drills.
“The acquisition of the Cocentall and Geobolt businesses was the platform which took Minova, in all the regions within which it currently operates, from a chemical business to a chemical and steel business,” said Michael Reich, Minova’s chief executive officer, in a press release.
“This change, which has significantly enhanced Minova’s product offering, has also been relatively rapid with the acquisitions of Excel, Strata Control, BWZ and Arnall all in quick succession.”
Headquartered in Golce, Poland, Arnall supplies a range of products to the international mining and tunnelling industries. The company is an established supplier of KGHM, a Polish copper and silver producer.
BWZ has a staff of 20 and is also active in the tunnelling and mining industries.
