The Castle Mountain mine, in eastern California, produced 104,105 oz. gold in its first year of operation.
Viceroy Resource (TSE), operator and 75% owner, said a monthly record of 10,297 oz. gold was achieved in March. As a result, fourth-quarter production totalled 28,763 oz., surpassing the previous best quarter. The open-pit, heap-leach operation started up April 1, 1992.
