New information from an exploration program on the former Val d’Or East Sullivan concession in Bourlamaque Twp. in northwestern Quebec has been released by Denn’or Exploration, which closed up 12 cents to 59 cents this week on a volume of 819,000.
The company reports a major shearing zone crossing the Central Post intrusion has been partly investigated and its lateral and depth extensions are still open. Drill hole intersections include 0.27 oz gold per ton across 12.8 ft, 0.18 oz across 8.7 ft and 0.17 oz across 4.3 ft. A second exploration program to further investigate the structure and also extend it, is being considered by Denn’or.
General trading activity on the Montreal Exchange was moderate this week, with the mining and minerals index showing gains on most days.
Golden Pond Resources, which is exploring (with Teck Corp., the project operator) property near the former producing Lamaque mine near Val d’Or, closed up 40 cents to $1.50 with 522,400 shares changing hands.
Recently releasing preliminary results from a four-month work program on gold property in Laberge and Desboues Twps. was Explorations Trois-Dimensions, which closed up 2 cents to 67 cents on 65,700 shares.
Abitibi Resources closed up 2 cents to 23 cents on a volume of 431,000. The company has concluded an agreement with Sofimines 1987 and Co., Ltd. Partnership, under which Abitibi will receive between $1 million and $2 million for property exploration work.
Announcing the start of diamond drilling programs on the Scheffor property near Schefferville, Que., the Wilco property at Rouyn- Noranda, Que., and the Samson property in Ste-Helene Twp., in the Casa Berardi area, was Mazarin Inc., which closed unchanged at 69 cents with 239,500 shares changing hands.
Aunore Resources, which closed up 15 cents to $2.85 on 35,400 shares, is exploring the Elder gold property near Rouyn in a joint venture with Nova Beaucage Mines. (Aunore has a 65% interest in the project.) A $7.5 million exploration program is planned this year on the property which could be in production next year.
