Vancouver —
Highlights from drilling on the near-surface oxide copper deposit are as follows:
– Hole 44 — 25 metres (from a down-hole depth of 20 metres) grading 8.1% copper and 0.4% cobalt;
– Hole 45 — 93 metres (from 5 metres) grading 2.7% copper and 0.7% cobalt, including a 41-metre section of 6% copper and 0.6% cobalt;
– Hole 48 — 86 metres (from 26 metres) grading 2.7% copper and 0.4% cobalt, including a 39-metre section of 4.7% copper and 0.6% cobalt.
Kalukundi has an inferred resource of 17 million tonnes grading 3% copper and 0.7% cobalt in four separate deposits calculated to a depth of 150 metres. The recent drill results (48 holes totalling 4,300 metres) will be incorporated into a new resource model as part of a feasibility study.
The deposit is in the Katangan Copperbelt of southern DRC. Roads and a power source are nearby.
Rubicon holds a 35.6% interest in Africo Resources, a private British Columbia company, which is earning a 75% stake in the Kalukundi deposit.
