More gold for Alexis

Alexis Minerals (AMC-V) is encouraged by gold and copper results from channel sampling on the Oramaque property, east of Val d’Or, Que.

Highlights from newly stripped outcrop sampled at the Hogg showing include up to 343 grams gold per tonne and 1.68% copper over 1 metre and 261 grams gold and 0.43% copper over 0.9 metre. Other samples with similar widths assayed between 15.5 and 97.4 grams gold and 0.4-0.97% copper.

The Orenada 3 South zone is 150 metres southwest of the Hogg showing. Six channel samples contained significant gold highlighted by one 3.8-metre channel that graded 6.1 grams gold and 0.29% copper. Other samples from 0.6-2.6 metres in length assayed 2.9-8.46 grams gold and 0.2-1.19% copper.

The Orenada 3 zone, 70 metres southeast of the Hogg showing, returned 2 metres of 5.4 grams gold and 0.86% copper, including a 1-metre section of 7.1 grams gold and 1.19% copper. Two narrower intervals, 0.3 and 0.75 metre long, assayed 10.9 grams gold and 0.43% copper and 17.5 grams gold and 1.8% copper, respectively.

Drilling will test these zones, as well as the Garnet zone and ground magnetic and induced-polarization anomalies.

Mineralization is associated with east- and north-northeast-trending shear zones in silicified metasedimentary rocks. Brecciated lenses extend for up to 20 metres along strike.

Alexis is earning a half-interest in the property and several others in the Rouyn-Noranda area from Noranda (NRD-T). The properties cover an 800-sq.-km area that includes mineral rights over the past-producing Horne and Quemont, Amulet, Gallen, Ansil, Newbec, East Waite and Old Waite mines.
