Mustang busy at East Bull Lake

Three more holes drilled at the East Bull Lake property, near Sudbury, Ont., have returned mixed results for Mustang Minerals (MMIN-C).

Mustang is concentrating on two areas of the East Bull Lake intrusion that are considered prospective for palladium-platinum deposits. The latest holes were collared at the Bullfrog target.

Hole 19 yielded the highest grades overall: 4.44 grams palladium and 1.77 grams platinum per tonne over 1 metre (32-33 metres). The interval was part of a wider, 12-metre section that averaged 2.41 grams of those combined metals. Other results include the following:

– 2.07 grams palladium and 0.82 gram platinum over 3.5 metres in hole 17. This was part of a 20-metre interval (17-37 metres) that averaged 1.05 grams palladium and 0.45 gram platinum;

– 1.93 grams palladium and 1.04 grams platinum over 3 metres in hole 18. This was part of a wider interval of 40 metres (15-55 metres) averaging 0.28 gram palladium and 0.16 platinum;

– 0.19 gram palladium and 0.15 gram platinum over 9 metres (53-62 metres) in hole 19.

All of the reported intervals contained lesser amounts of rhodium and gold, plus up to 0.31% copper and 0.15% nickel.

To date, a total of seven holes has been sunk at Bullfrog; all have returned similar grades and widths of mineralization. The drilling continues.

Mustang is also exploring the nearby River Valley Intrusion for platinum group metals. Funding for that project is being provided by South African-based major Impala Platinum Holdings, which can earn a 60% interest in the 511 claims, owned by Mustang.
