The Mines, Minerals and Energy Resources group of Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has introduced a new twist to its Annual Review of Activities.
To be held Nov. 4-5 at the World Trade and Convention centre in Halifax, the open house will welcome members of the public and school groups along with geologists, miners and consultants.
A special 1-hour program called “Discover Rocks” will introduce school groups to the province’s minerals and their uses, exploration techniques and earth history.
The review will focus on new developments in Nova Scotia’s mineral and energy resource sector. John Leefe, minister of the DNR, will be the guest speaker at a luncheon on Nov. 5.
