Alberta-listed Nebex Resources has optioned another concession in Albania, bringing its total land holdings there to more than 1,000 sq. km.
The latest option agreement concerns the 200-sq.-km Radomir concession, near Albania’s eastern border with Macedonia.
The area is known to host gold-bearing shear zones in Paleozoic sediments and volcanics.
The main showing on the concession is a 1-km-long, vertically dipping, quartz-sericite-chlorite shear zone, 50-60 metres wide.
Preliminary work on the showing yielded assay values of up to 11 grams gold per tonne, with associated arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and minor amounts of mercury. The structure has yet to be drilled.
Nebex can earn an 80% interest in the property by spending US$750,000 on exploration over four years. Drilling is planned for the near future.
