Nelson Hogg

Nelson Hogg, former exploration manager of eastern Canada for Cleveland-based junior Hanna Mining, has died. He was 86.

Hogg received his BSc degree from the University of Toronto in 1940 and enlisted in the armed forces during the Second World War.

After the war, he got a job with Howe Sound Mining at Snow Lake, Man., as an engineer. He later worked for the Ontario Department of Mines in Kirkland Lake as a resident geologist.

Before joining Hanna Mining, Hogg worked with Hunting Survey Corp. as chief geologist.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, children Nancy, Nelson, Joan and Bruce, and 10 grandchildren.
