Nevsun sizes up Bisha in Eritrea

Nevsun Resources (NSU-T) is encouraged by initial drill results at the Bisha polymetallic deposit in the northeast African state of Eritrea

Drilling of the oxide portion of the Bisha Main zone included: 22.5 metres grading 10.32 grams gold per tonne at a depth of 1.5 metres in hole BRC-011; 6.5 grams gold and 154.7 grams silver over 10.5 metres at a down-hole depth of 39 metres in hole BRC-017; and 4.5 grams gold and 7.5 grams silver at a down-hole depth of 16.5 metres in hole BRC-019.

The supergene copper zone returned an intersection of 25.5 metres grading 8.44% copper in hole BRC-002. Other significant intersections included up to 76.5 metres of primary mineralization grading 8.32% zinc and 0.48% copper at a depth of 200 metres, plus 27.1 metres of 12.64% zinc and 1.06% copper at 140.6 metres down-hole.

The drilling is aimed at delineating the gold-bearing oxide and supergene copper-bearing massive sulphides over a strike length of 1,200 metres. Infill drilling there is at 25-metre sections.
