New find at Tisdale project made by Getty, Davidson

Surface drilling on the S-zone at the Tisdale property held by Getty Resources and Davidson Tisdale Mines has intersected a new zone which could lead to an increase in reserves, the companies say. Located north of Timmins, Ont., the property is shared equally by the two partners.

Drilling on the S-zone, which was designed to delineate ore shoots within the vein stystem, intersected a new zone 65 ft below the S-zone. A 10.8-ft section assayed 0.3 oz gold per ton. (All assays on the project are cut to one oz).

Two holes which tested the western extension of the S-zone intersected 9.8 ft grading 0.56 and 0.12 oz across 5 ft. The zone remains open to the west and drilling is continuing.

At the Main zone, two high grade veins were encountered during pilot hole drilling in preparation for driving a decline ramp. Some of the best sections from 9 of 10 holes completed in the area are listed below.

Width Grade Hole (ft) oz Au/t 140 14.8 0.27 141 18.0 0.11 incld 5.0 0.34 142 13.0 0.18 143 5.0 0.57 144 16.4 0.36 145 13.0 0.14

Underground exploration from the decline is expected to be under way by mid-year, the partners say. Also deep drilling of the Main zone to test for extensions below the 600-ft level, will be completed this year.

The underground program on the Main zone is expected to be completed by March. This work is being conducted via the rehabilitated Horseshoe shaft. This work, the partners say, has confirmed drill-indicated reserves. Getty has previously published a reserve figure of 823,850 tons grading 0.36 oz gold per ton.

Bulk testing of ore from the property has been successfully completed at Pamour’s mill near Timmins. The work yielded a gold recovery of 95% using gravity and flotation circuits.
