New Found Gold (TSXV: NFG; NYSEA: NFGC) has announced the results from seven diamond drill holes completed as part of a drill program designed to test the newly discovered Keats West zone.
The results include 5.05 grams gold per tonne over 11.7 metres in NFGC-22-1027, which occurs at surface and increases the total strike length of the Keats West zone to 315 metres, an increase of 65 metres.
Keats West starts at surface with all intercepts drilled to date occurring above 130 metres vertical depth and now spans a 305 metre by 315 metre area that has a cumulative average thickness of 30 metres.
Hole NFGC-22-1010, east of NFGC-22-1027 delivered 4.43 grams gold over 43.4 metres. The company says this result provides an excellent example of the calibre of grade and thicknesses, as well as strong continuity of gold mineralization that characterizes Keats West.
New Found Gold COO Greg Matheson said the results continue “to demonstrate consistent grades and thicknesses, occurring right at surface.”
New Found’s 100%-owned Queensway project covers 1,662 sq. km and is accessible by highway, 15 km west of Gander, N.L.
The company is now undertaking a 500,000-metre drill program at Queensway and about 50,495 metres of core is currently pending assay results.
New Found shares traded at $6.61 on Wednesday afternoon in Toronto, valuing the company at $1.1 billion. Its shares traded in a 52-week window of $4.03 and $7.60.
