A group of Nova Scotian investors representing Cavalier Capital Corp. has initiated legal action against Westminer Canada and six other defendants.
The investors claim to have suffered an $8-million loss (their investment in Cavalier) because of the actions of Westminer against the former directors of Seabright Resources.
Westminer took Terrence Coughlan, president of Seabright, and six former directors of Seabright to court in the late 1980s after taking over the junior. Westminer lost that lawsuit and the ensuing appeal.
Coughlan was involved in the formation of Cavalier, a company registered in Nova Scotia.
