A drill hole has intersected a massive sulphide zone at Saskatchewan’s Balsam project, 60 km southwest of Flin Flon, Man.
The project is a joint venture of Troymin Resources (ASE) and Aur Resources (TSE), with Thunderwood Resources (TSE) and Consolidated Abitibi Resources (ME) each earning 15% interests by funding exploration.
Of the six holes drilled in the first phase of the project, four failed to intersect significant mineralization.
Of the two holes containing notable values, one returned an 8-metre section grading 5.7% zinc, 0.3% copper and 0.2 gram gold per tonne, as well as higher-grade intervals with up to 10.3% zinc. Pulse-electromagnetic work in this hole shows a conductor (which could be more massive-sulphide mineralization) in the immediate area,
Another hole intersected three intervals of zinc sulphides ranging from 0.8% to 3.43% zinc.
The partners have agreed to undertake a second phase of drilling in the area of the discovery.
