New name for San Andreas

Junior San Andreas Resources (SAO-T) has changed its name to Canadian Zinc, and will trade under the symbol CZN on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The new name, which has yet to be approved by regulators, is designed to reflect the company’s high-grade zinc deposit at Prairie Creek in the Northwest Territories. In addition, the number of directors will increase to six from five.

Situated 500 km west of Yellowknife, the Prairie Creek property comprises 7,802 ha and is about 27 km long.

The Canadian division of Mineral Resource Development Inc. estimates that the Zone 3 deposit contains 11.8 million tonnes averaging 12.5% zinc and 10.1% lead, plus 161 grams silver per tonne. The mineralization has a strike length of 2.1 km and remains open for further exploration.

San Andreas is planning a summer exploration program, while, at the same time, it hammers out a development agreement with the co-operation of First Nations bands.
