New PDAC managing director

Dr Anthony Andrews has been appointed managing director of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, succeeding Alan Bossin, who has returned to the insurance industry, in a senior executive capacity with a public company.

Dr Andrews, 41, brings to the pdac 16 years of professional experience within the geological community. He received his honors bachelor of science and doctorate in geology at the University of Western Ontario, and was a post- doctoral fellow at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla, Calif.

He has worked both in private industry, and in government, most recently with the Ontario Geological Survey, involved in intensive study of Archean gold and Proterozoic silver deposits.

While completing his education, he was the recipient of a number of honors and awards, including the University of Western Ontario gold medal, and a Nati onal Research Council postgraduate scholarship.
