Drill results from the Hearne Hill project northeast of Smithers, B.C., have prompted property owner Booker Gold (VSE) to continue its exploration work through the winter.
The company is testing a new geophysical target northeast of the copper-gold porphyry identified by Texas Gulf Sulphur in the mid-1960s. The drill-indicated and drill-inferred resource of the porphyry was last estimated at 60 million tonnes grading 0.16% copper and 0.1 gram gold per tonne.
The recent results from the new zone include: a 304-metre intersection grading 0.46% copper and 0.2 gram gold in hole 95-14; a 179-metre intersection grading 0.47% copper and 0.2 gram gold in hole 95-15; and a 156-metre intersection grading 1.03% copper and 0.43 gram gold in hole 95-16.
Holes 14 and 15 were drilled from the same setup, one vertical and the other at 60! bearing 340!. Hole 16 stepped out 50 metres and was also drilled on a bearing of 340!.
The new zone remains open to expansion in all directions.
