Drilling at the 1,750-hectare Angostura project in northeastern Colombia has identified a new gold-silver chert zone, about 1 km southwest of the Veta de Barro area.
The drill program is funded by Churchill Resources (CHK-V), which can earn a half interest in the project from Greystar Resources (GSL-V) by spending US$2 million in exploration and issuing 1 million shares.
The first hole to test the Los Laches zone intersected 10 metres of 1.65 grams gold and 27.6 grams silver per tonne from a depth of 42-52 metres, 12 metres of 3.45 grams gold and 25.1 grams silver from 76-88 metres, and 19 metres of 3.07 grams gold and 29.8 grams silver (including 7 metres of 5.98 grams gold and 25.5 grams silver) from 105 to 124 metres.
Partial results from the second hole included 30 metres of 2.78 grams gold and 45.97 grams silver (including 8 metres of 5.8 grams gold and 98.56 grams silver) from 48 to 78 metres. Assay results from 78 to 149.4 metres are pending.
The holes were drilled from the same site, but at different bearings. At a 40-metre depth, the holes are a horizontal distance of 30 metres from each other.
Results are pending for holes 96-3 and 96-4, which were drilled to similar depths, 100 metres to the east. The fifth hole will stepout 50 metres east of hole 2. Eight holes will be drilled in this initial stage of drilling.
The Los Laches zone is interpreted as a microbrecciated, east-northeasterly trending mylonite zone. The setting is distinct from the Veta de Barro and Mina El Diamante areas of the Angostura project.
