News In Brief (January 05, 1987)

Torene Gold Exploration plans another 10,000 ft of drilling on its Harrington Cove gold property in Nova Scotia, following results of an initial 3,000-ft program that returned six intersections in four holes with values of 0.20-0.65 oz gold per ton over widths of 5-6 ft. All seven holes in the program cut gold values.

Royal Gold and Silver plans to diversify into the high-tech manufacturing business. Royal is also raising $250,000 in a flow-through financing to fund exploration on properties in northwestern Ontario in which it has an interest.
