NEWS IN BRIEF — Abacus looks for stratabound gold

Abacus Minerals (VSE) has obtained more trench assay results from its gold property in Brookfield, N.S.

Trench 4 uncovered a sample which ran 0.76 grams gold per tonne over 19 metres, including a section of 1.17 grams per tonne over 7 metres. Trench 9 (12 metres to the northeast) had assays of 0.70 grams gold over 29.5 metres, including two samples which ran 1.04 grams over 6 metres and 2.5 metres, respectively.

Abacus is looking for a stratabound bulk tonnage gold deposit within an anticline. Trenching was completed over the anticline axis.
