The Bureau of Mines’ Alaska Field Operations Center (AFOC) is making location maps of mining claims in the state. Active and historical mining claims have been plotted on mylar overlays on a U.S. Geological Survey map, with mineral locations numbered and indexed. Contact AFOC at Anchorage or Juneau, Alaska.
