NEWS ROUNDUP — Bre-X acquires Indonesian ground

In what it calls “the premier unexplored area of the world,” Bre-X Minerals (ASE) has acquired a third exploration property.

A deal has been signed with Bre-X’s Indonesian partner to acquire an 80% interest in two claims comprising 10,000 hectares in central Sumatra. The claims cover epithermal gold mineralization within quartz veins and quartz stockwork. These lie within a 100-200-metre-wide advanced alteration zone traced for more than 7.5 km.

Bre-X already has two advanced projects in Indonesia, on which diamond drilling will begin Oct. 1.
