NEWS ROUNDUP — Gowest active in Timmins area

Alberta-listed Gowest Amalgamated Resources reports that four holes drilled to test geophysical anomalies on the Murphy Twp. property near Timmins, Ont., failed to intersect economic mineralization. As a result, no further work is planned.

However, Gowest does plan to carry out an airborne geophysical survey on its 2,880-acre property in Gowan Twp.

Elsewhere in the Timmins area, Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE) has resumed drilling on Gowest’s Denton Twp. property. Hemlo will test several targets, including zones of alteration with anomalous gold content. Hemlo is in the third year of a 5-year option agreement, pursuant to which Hemlo can earn a 70% interest.

In other news, Gowest has received $150,000 from a rights offering.
