NEWS ROUNDUP — Western Copper in Mexico

Intent on acquiring the copper property known as El Salvador, Western Copper (TSE) is venturing into central Mexico.

The junior can earn a full interest by spending US$1.5 million on exploration over three years. The property is subject to a 2.5% net smelter royalty if copper falls below US$1 per lb., or a 3% net smelter royalty if it rises above that level.

Construction of a 30,000-ton-per-year copper processing plant is estimated to cost US$250,000. Western hopes to joint-venture the property with another company.
