The wheels of justice move slowly, including that arm of the Ontario Securities Commission. In its press release of July 29, 1992, a public hearing was billed for Aug. 25 to consider, among other things, allegations that Patrick Sheridan failed to make public disclosure of a material fact relating to Madeleine Mines (TSE) and also that Sheridan caused Dayton Porcupine Gold Mines (CDN) to issue a press release that contained a misrepresentation relating to that company’s affairs.
The Dayton Porcupine release was issued in July, l989, while the Madeleine incident occurred over a year ago. The above hearing has been postponed to Sept. 11.
