Norcal and Gold Giant identify targets

Partners Norcal Resources (NLR-V) and Gold Giant Minerals (GNR-V) have identified 15 geophysically derived drill targets at their

Norgiant project in northwestern Quebec.

Operator Norcal says that 11 of the horizontal-loop geophysical and magnetic anomalies showed classic volcanogenic-massive-sulphide signatures, whereas the remaining four targets show potential for gold mineralization.

Following the completion of an induced-polarization survey over the gold targets, the partners plan to begin a 30-hole reconnaissance drilling campaign during the first quarter of 1998.

In related news, a new joint venture, dubbed “Aurville,” was formed among Norcal (40%), Gold Giant (40%) and Castle Rock Exploration (ctp-v) (20%) in order to stake 126 claims to the south of the Norgiant project. Here, too, Norcal will serve as operator.
