Drilling by Northern Orion Explorations (NNO-T) at its Agua Rica property has confirmed previous results indicating significant copper and molybdenum mineralization.
The porphyry copper-moly-gold-silver deposit is in Argentina’s Catamarca province.
Hole 81 returned 122 metres (from 2 to 124 metres) grading 1.22% copper and 0.043% moly, as well as 0.09 gram gold and 3.6 grams silver per tonne. Hole 82 returned 660 metres (from 5 to 665 metres) of 0.56% copper, 0.039% moly, 0.26 gram gold and 7.5 grams silver, including 142 metres of 0.91% copper and 0.044% moly. Hole 83 intercepted 492 metres (from 60 to 492 metres) of 0.67% copper, 0.68% moly, 0.19 gram gold and 2.8 grams silver. Hole 84 cut 392 metres (from 130 to 392 metres) of 0.82% copper, 0.98% moly, 0.21 gram gold and 8.7 grams silver, including 106 metres grading 1.68% copper and 0.136% moly.
Infill holes 81 and 84 were drilled in the Trampeadero area, whereas 83 and 84, also infill holes, were drilled in the Mi Vida area.
A US$45-million work program is under way, including a 50,000-metre drill program and construction of an access road.
The project is a joint venture between Northern Orion (30%) and BHP Minerals International (70%). Miramar Mining (MAE-T) owns 54% of the former.
