Exploration activity by Northern Mining Explorations of Amos, Que., will be centred this year on gold property in Isle-Dieu Twp., near Matagami, President Jean-Guy Cotnoir reports.
Results to date for the property’s Marcelle vein area indicate possible reserves of 51,257 tons grading 0.19 oz gold per ton, after 20% dilution. (Some surface mining may be possible.) The upper part of the zone, closer to the surface, shows a better grade and the entire zone remains open at depth, Mr Cotnoir reports.
A Pulse EM survey was recently completed on the property. Additional surface drilling of 5,000 ft will be undertaken. The property will be enlarged by the acquisition of two mineral claims to the north. As well, Dunlop Bay is to be staked, within the area of the intrusive.
Northern Mining plans additional exploration work on its Landriene Twp. gold property; it also plans to acquire property in Quevillon Twp.
Mr Cotnoir also reports that the company may form a new affiliated company that would act as its subsidiary in exploring and developing both the Landrienne property and the new Quevillon property.
Northern Mining plans to raise its own exploration funds through a privately financed limited partnership.
