An exploration drill hole at the Rainy River property of Nuinsco Resources (TSE), about 30 km northwest of Fort Frances, Ont., has intersected semi-massive to massive sulphide mineralization in mafic intrusive rock.
The intersection was 7.06 metres long and held 5% to 100% sulphides. Average metal contents were 1.15% nickel, 0.7% copper, 0.05% cobalt, 0.91 gram platinum, 2.48 grams palladium, 1.78 grams gold and 13 grams silver per tonne.
The hole was drilled on an extension of a gold-bearing structure (the 17 zone) on the property.
Nuinsco says “more than one major mining company” has discussed the possibility of an exploration agreement for the project.
Nuinsco has been working in the Rainy River region for the past two years.
