Gerald O’Connell, former district manager of eastern Canada for Teck Cominco, has been appointed executive director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Chamber of Mineral Resources. He replaces Robert Kelly who recently joined Voiseys Bay Nickel.
O’Connell, a graduate of the National University of Ireland, previously worked for the Newfoundland and Labrador Explorationists, an association which supports the development of mineral wealth in the province.
The Chamber of Mineral Resources has represented the mining and exploration sector in Newfoundland and Labrador since 1995.
