Obituary (February 09, 1987)

Henry L. Hill, a prominent consulting engineer and past president of the B.C. & Yukon Chamber of Mines, died recently in Vancouver in his 80th year. He founded his own consulting firm in 1944 and retired from the company in 1967 when it was called Hill, Manning and Associates.

He contributed to many mining successes including Reeves MacDonald and Giant Mascot Mines. In 1965, Mr Hill persuaded many of his client companies to participate in the exploration of the Pine Point area where the Pyramid orebody was discovered. It was later developed by Cominco as a major zinc-lead producer (Pine Point Mines).

Mr Hill is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Lyn, a brother and sister, plus several grandchildren. His son Lorne predeceased him in 1962.
