On the move (October 04, 1990)

In his new position of executive vice-president of Dayco Products, Bruce McNeil will have direct responsibility for all sales and marketing functions. He joined the company in 1977 from the accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney.

David Bolander has been appointed assistant to the president of Austin Powder Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. He has been a consultant to the company since 1985. Also, David Fisher, who has been a controller with Austin from 1987 to 1989, is now field financial manager.

Michael Conway has joined Fluor Daniel Wright as manager of mining and metallurgy at its offices in Redwood City, Calif. He was previously vice-president of nonferrous technology for Davy McKee where he also spent 10 years as a process engineer and manager focusing on gold process plants.

Michel Aubertin has joined the Dept. of Mineral Engineering of Ecole Polytechnique as assistant professor. A graduate of Sherbrooke University in civil engineering, Aubertin holds a master of arts in soil mechanics, and a PhD in Rock mechanics from Ecole Polytechnique.

Reeently appointed president and general manager of CAE Machinery is James Best. He succeeds Fred Veuger. A native of England, Best joined CAE in Vancouver in 1976 as controller and secretary, then became a v.p.

Peter Kerr, vice-president of Atlas Copco Caaada’s marketing division in Vancouver, has been made responsible for the sales of industrial compressors. Other changes are as follows: Tom Dolhan, formerly manager of the Winnipeg branch, becomes sales manager for mining, based in Vancouver; Serge Gauthier, also in Vancouver, becomes sales manager of construction; Louis Dall’O continues as service manager in the same city, but, in addition, becomes responsible for the service operation in Western Canada.

Dr. Murray Hutchison has returned to San Ramon, Calif.-based Davy McKee Corp. as vice-president of sales, responsible for domestic and international business development. Hutchison was previuously general sales manager at Davy McKee and, recently, president of Welsh Construction.

Dr. Raj Singhal waa recently elected chairman of the Edmonton branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy. Singhal is group leader for advanced mining technology at the coal research labs of the Canadian Institute of Mining & Technology in Devon, Alta.

Recently appointed marketing services manager of Miner Elastomer Products Corporation of Geneva, Ill. is Steven Hayes. Previously, he was a salesman for Efdyn, a division of Autoquip Corp. of Guthrie, Okla.

Clarence Muzechka has joined Wire Rope Corp. of America’s international division as district sales manager for Western Canada. He is responsible for developing accounts in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territory, the Yukon and Manitoba.The board of directors of Toronto-based Geomaque Explorations has accepted the resignation of A.L. Hellens as president.

Keith Wick has been appointed director of marketing for Minpro Inc.’s U.S. operations, in Golden, Colo. He has served as a project manager for Denver Equipment Co., senior process engineer for Amax Inc. and project manager for Hazen Research.

Appointed as principals to Golder Associates of Mississauga, Ont., are Dr. Trevor Carter, Richard Suiton and Robert Montgomery.
