Opawica execs beef up holdings

Recent insider trading transactions reported by the Ontario Securities Commission in its OSC Bulletin include the following:

Birim Goldfields (BGI-T) — Denis Simoneau, director, bought 200,000 shares in a private placement at 24 each and another 5,000 shares directly at 22 to hold 277,500 shares.

Black Hawk Mining (BHK-T) — Colin Benner, officer, sold 200,0000 shares at 11 to hold 297,276 shares.

Channel Resources (CHU-T) — David Fitzpatrick, director and owner of more than 10% of the company, privately and indirectly bought 3.5 million shares at 8 to hold 3.5 million shares indirectly; and Gordon Fitzpatrick, director, privately sold 3.8 milion shares at 8 to hold 6,700 shares.

First Quantum Minerals (FM-T) — Robert Watts, director, exercised 5,000 warrants at $1.03 and sold the resulting share at $3.10 or $3.12 to hold 90,000 options and no shares.

Millstream Mines (YLI-V) — Robert Chase, director, bought 29,000 shares at 7 and sold 9,000 shares at 10 to hold 464,000 shares.

Opawica Explorations (OPW-T) — Donald Clark, director, bought 1 million shares privately at 15 to hold just over 1 million shares; Paul Antoniazzi, director, bought 1 million shares at 15 to hold 1.05 million shares; and William Brereton, director, bought 40,000 shares at 25 to hold 113,431 shares.

Pelangio Mines (YPM-V) — Jean-Pierre Colin, director, bought 220,000 shares at 5 and sold 295,000 shares at 5-10 to hold 945,000 shares.

Pure Gold Minerals (PUG-T) — Eugene Beukman, director, exercised 142,858 warrants at 11, bought 53,000 shares at 8 or 9 and sold 183,740 shares at 7-8 to hold 13,118 shares; and Donald Sheldon, director, indirectly exercised 1.4 million warrants at 11 to hold 1.4 million shares indirectly and 674,487 shares directly.

River Gold Mines (RIV-T) — Robert Landis, director, bought 41,700 shares directly at $1.24-1.27 and 25,000 shares indirectly at $1.10 or $1.15 to hold 125,000 shares directly and indirectly. He also purchased 15,000 warrants at $1.10 to hold 15,000 warrants.

SouthernEra Resources (SUF-T) — Philip Martin, director, sold 14,000 shares at $2.70 or $2.80 and bought 4,600 shares at $2.20 to hold 95,400 shares; and Rudi Fronk, director, bought 11,000 shares at $1.62 to hold 130,000 shares.

Tenke Mining (TNK-T) — Lukas Lundin, director, bought 16,000 shares at 45-60 and sold 10,000 shares at 60 to hold 110,260 shares.
