Opawica performs sampling program

In southwestern Ghana, Opawica Explorations (TSE) is carrying out field work on two reconnaissance licences.

Soil sampling is under way on the northeastern portion of the 1,500-sq.-km Enchi-Wiawso property, which is underlain by a 35-km section of the Afema-Bibiani shear zone. This regional structure hosts the now-dormant Bibiani mine and the currently active Anuiri operation.

Opawica will collect 1,350 samples (weighing 2 kg each) at 100-metre centres, on lines spaced at intervals of 1 km.

Meanwhile, farther to the east, the company will carry out similar work on the Asankrangwa licence. The area of interest is underlain by a 20-km length of the Mansu Nkwanta-Asankrangwa trend, which hosts other gold discoveries. About 1,000 samples will be collected.

Within the next 3 months, Opawica expects to receive results from an airborne geophysical survey covering most of its holdings in the Gold Coast.
