CDN-listed Oroperu Resources has released early results of its reverse-circulation drill program on the Toro gold project in north-central Peru.
The drilling has been applied to areas peripheral to the main target area.
Two test holes, drilled at lower elevations adjacent to the Toro main zone, were mineralized from surface to depth.
>From surface to 15 metres, Hole 2 intersected 1.42 grams gold per tonne. From 46.5 to 90 metres, the grade was 1.07 and 6.38 grams per tonne. Results from hole 1 have not been released.
Shallow prospect drilling in areas of overburden cover east of the deposit tested the perimeter of the mineralized zones for possible extensions. Among the nine holes from which assays are available, only anomalous gold values were encountered. Assays from six holes are still pending. Drills are testing the main zone. The complete first-phase drill program calls for a total of 40 holes.
