In its next phase of drilling on the Don Mario deposit in Bolivia, Orvana Minerals (ORV-T) will focus on the structure’s down-plunge extension.
In the first phase, the company intersected an average true thickness of 10.7 metres grading 28.9 grams gold per tonne in the central core of the high-grade zone.
Previous drilling by Billiton cut a 2.7-metre intersection averaging 33.7 grams gold per tonne, 300 metres down-plunge from the high-grade core.
Orvana is moving a third diamond drill on to the property to complete infill drilling and explore a strike length of about 5 km. Reverse-circulation drilling is also under way, and a geophysical crew is collecting ground magnetic and induced-polarization data.
Orvana has completed 60% of the 12,000-metre drill program planned for Don Mario this year.
