A bulk sample has netted Ottarasko Mines 365 oz. gold and 156 oz. silver.
The company mined 190 tons from its Mt. Skinner gold project, 120 miles west of Williams Lake, B.C.
The low-sulphide quartz ore was trucked 750 miles to the Premier gold mill, owned by Westmin Resources in Stewart.
Gold recovery amounted to 98.9%, and the cost — including contract mining, trucking, milling and corporate overhead — was $197 per oz., compared with a realized price of $436 per oz.
The company has a permit to mine a further 1,500 tons, grading about 2 oz. gold per ton, from underground in early 1994.
Ottarasko is seeking partners to fund further development.
The 4,300-acre project covers a mile-long system of en echelon, intrusive-hosted, shear-controlled, mesothermal quartz veins.
