Results from the first two holes of a 10,000-metre drill program on Pangea Goldfields’ (TSE) Fenn-Gib property near Matheson, Ont., suggest excellent down-plunge continuity of the West Deformation zone.
Hole G94-60 tested the deformation zone at a vertical depth of 135 metres and intersected an aggregate of 21.9 metres that averaged 5 grams gold per tonne.
Two intersections were separated by a lamprophyre dyke. The first intersection, above the dyke, averaged 5.3 grams over 16.08 metres, including 7.6 grams over 4.65 metres. The second intersection, below the dyke, averaged 4.1 grams over 5.8 metres.
A second hole, G94-61, drilled at a vertical depth of 185 metres, intersected 21.5 grams per tonne over 8.6
metres.
Meanwhile, in Tanzania, Pangea is poised to start drilling on the Golden Ridge project. Surface trenching on 150-metre spacings has been carried out over a 3-km distance and assays are pending.
