Partners Canabrava Diamond (CNB-V) and Diamonds North Resources (DDN-V) have cut kimberlite on their first hole on the Hadley Bay project on Victoria Island in Nunavut.
The vertical hole returned 32 metres of kimberlite breccia from the Apollo kimberlite after cutting through 3 metres of overburden material.
The hole was designed to test an intense magnetic low, which forms part of a cluster of magnetic anomalies along a strike length of about 1.5 km. Delineation drilling on Apollo is ongoing.
Planned drilling will also test nine additional magnetic anomalies.
Canabrava can earn a half-interest in Diamonds North’s Hadley Bay project by spending $5 million and issuing 250,000 shares over four years. Diamonds North remains the operator. The project area covers 11,970 sq. km and is known to contain five diamondiferous kimberlite bodies, previously discovered by De Beers.
