Partners persevere at Lew

Thunderwood Resources (THS-T) and partner Consolidated Abitibi Resources (CAQ-M) have begun a new program of drilling at the Lew volcanogenic massive sulphide property, 20 km east of Flin Flon, Man.

Twelve holes will be drilled, eight of which will test for extensions to copper-gold mineralization that was identified in previous drilling (T.N.M., Oct.6-13/97). The remainder will evaluate geophysical anomalies and zones of hydrothermal alteration.

The partners will also carry out downhole pulse-electromagnetic surveys and lithogeochemical sampling.

Thunderwood and Consolidated Abitibi are each earning a 30% interest in the Lew property from owner Aur Resources (AUR-T). The property is underlain by early Proterozoic felsic volcanic flows and pyroclastic rocks belonging to the Baker Patton Felsic Complex.
