Partners Canabrava Diamond (CNB-V) and Majescor Resources (MAJ-V) are planning a follow-up program of drilling and geophysics on their 1,724-sq.-km Mistassini project between the northern part of Lake Mistassini and the Eastmain River in the Otish Mountains area of Quebec.
The two plan on following up on anomalies targeted during this summer’s program of glacial sediment sampling and geophysical surveying. Drilling will begin in late fall.
Basal till sampling 600 and 2,300 metres down ice of the two highest priority magnetic anomalies returned kimberlite indicator mineral counts of 507 and 563. Up to 90% of the grains in the samples bear fragile surface reaction rims indicating a proximal source.
Other geophysical anomalies returned indicator minerals counts of up to 174. Many included fragile surface textures. In all, 294 glacial sediment samples were collected.
Canabrava can earn a half-interest by spending $1.3 million on exploration over three years. Majescor is the operator.
