Vancouver — A drill program funded by
The property hosts three areas of carbonate-hosted zinc-lead-silver mineralization along a 6-km strike length of prospective carbonate stratigraphy. From north to south, the mineralized targets are called the Onward, Onward South and Swannell River zones.
The Onward zone is 2 km south of the historic Ingenika mine, which hosts a resource of 22,677 tonnes grading 6.1% zinc, 9.8% lead, and 119.9 grams silver per tonne. The company’s claims surround, but do include, the historic mine.
The Onward South zone is 400 metres south of the Onward zone, whereas the Swannell River zone is 3 km south. Recent exploration on the land package led to the discovery of zinc-lead-silver mineralization in outcrop along the Swannell River, and in the same carbonate unit as the Ingenika mine and the Onward zones. Sampling returned encouraging results, with values of up to 25.62% zinc, 16.28% lead and 1,202 grams silver. The mineralized showings coincide with a high-chargeability and high-resistivity induced-polarization signature similar to that returned from an orientation IP survey over the Ingenika mine.
Cross Lake and Bard plan to carry out 1,200 metres of drilling to test at least six IP targets outlined by geophysical and geological mapping.
Bard is funding exploration on the property in order to earn a half-interest from Cross Lake.
