Nineteen claims adjacent to the Detour Lake mine of Placer Dome Inc. in northeastern Ontario were recently acquired by Pelangio- Larder Mines (COATS). President Maurice Hibbard said previous drilling of the property uncovered visible gold and significant gold values (0.15 oz. gold per ton) over narrow widths. These values, he said, were associated with substantial disseminated sulphide such as chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and phlogopite mica.
