Placer head to speak at Elko Mining Expo

Mining in foreign jurisdictions will be discussed by John Willson, president of Placer Dome, at the 14th annual Elko Mining Expo, to be held in Elko, Nev., from June 16 to 19.

Willson will be one of several speakers, including Kenny Guinn, Nevada’s new governor, Bruce Vincent, president of the Alliance for America, and Robert Hale, president of P&H MinePro Services.

Concurrently, the Western Underground Mining Conference will hold its second annual meeting. Speakers at that event will include representatives of 13 mines and five western states.

Both events will be held at the Elko Convention Center.

Situated in northeastern Nevada, Elko is in the centre of the most prolific gold mining region in North America.
