The fifth hole of a 5-hole program at the Robertson base metal property near Matachewan, Ont., has intersected four zones of banded, disseminated to semi-massive sulphide mineralization, including a 14-ft. intersection grading 0.51% copper at a depth of 783 ft.
According to joint venture partners Queenston Mining (TSE) and Strike Minerals (COATS), the sulphide zones occur within the same 650 ft. thick exhalite sequence that hosts the massive sulphide lenses discovered in holes 90-3 and 90-4.
Last month, the discovery of copper-zinc mineralization on the Robertson Twp. property drove up the share prices of both Queenston and Strike and sparked a staking rush in the Matachewan area.
The partners will complete downhole geophysics on hole 90-5 before starting a 10,000-ft. program to test geophysical targets and strike and depth extensions of the exhalite sequence.
