Record production reached by Pegasus

Pegasus Gold says that 1986 gold production “reached record levels,” and exceeded the previous high by almost 20%. According to James Foreman, president, over-all production was 92,000 oz gold and 218,000 oz silver.

He expects a 145% increase in 1987 gold output to 225,000 oz with silver rising by over 300% to 900,000 oz. The addition of the new Montana Tunnels mine (N.M., Dec. 15/86), was cited as the reason for the dramatic increase in silver production.

Breaking production down on a mine-by-mine basis, the company expects to produce 80,000 oz gold and 200,000 oz silver at its Zortman/Landusky operations in Montana, 95,000 oz gold from its Florida and Relief Canyon projects in Nevada, and 50,000 oz gold and 700,000 oz silver from one-half year’s production at Montana Tunnels.
